The month of February is here! This means: first, the cold with it, but also February 14, lovers’ day. A little thought to all the Valentines on this planet who must be tired of being linked to this event.
Although I personally find that it is not enough one day a year to prove his/her love to his/her other half, we’re all faced with this sickening avalanche of hearts and, let’s be honest, with this celebration that has become very commercial.
So let’s be love and talk about its place in rock and metal music!
Love, rock, and metal music
The truth is that love is a subject that is very much used, in all styles of music! Whether it is positively: the joy of being in love, of having found his other half, etc. Or negatively: separation, disputes, and so on.
It is then obvious that this subject is found in the different genres of rock and metal. There are hundreds of songs about this subject, some of which have become classics over time. And this:
- More or less morbidly talking about the murder of the other person.
- More or less sexual, with sensual rhythms and relatively explicit texts.
- In a more or less sad way, speaking of the death of the loved one, of a painful separation…
- And, of course, in many other ways.
You understand it, there is something for everyone. Even singles can listen to songs that praise celibacy!
And you can find a summary of these songs in the playlist that follows.
Here’s something to help you celebrate correctly Valentine’s Day. And if you’re alone (like many other people) remember that the most important relationship you have in your life is with yourself. So don’t hesitate to take this opportunity to celebrate yourself!
